Kristina Mueller is a Director in Control Risks’ Compliance, Forensics, and Intelligence practice in the Americas region, focusing on delivering data analytics solutions in the financial services industry. She has advised multinational corporations and global law firms by providing technology-driven solutions to mitigate critical business risks. With an educational background in finance and work experience in data science, Kristina leverages various database programming languages to provide bespoke analysis of complex structured data systems related to investigations, compliance and integrity risk, particularly in the financial services industry and mortgage-backed securities. 


Kristina’s recent projects include:
  • Supporting three Independent Monitors appointed pursuant to settlement agreements between the US DOJ and three financial institutions in connection to the marketing, structuring, underwriting, issuance, and sale of residential mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). She has devised analytical models to validate a total of $9.4 billion in consumer relief, as required by the respective Settlement Agreements.
  • Conducted geospatial analytics, geocoding and created interactive mapping solutions to ensure compliance with the terms of a multi-billion dollar DOJ settlement.

Before joining Control Risks, Kristina worked at the Nielsen Company as a data scientist and was responsible for developing nationwide assessments where she implemented predictive models utilizing machine learning. Prior to that, Kristina was a Senior Consultant with Navigant Consulting in the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations practice. Kristina holds a BS in Finance, Insurance and Business Law from Virginia Tech.
