Inés is a Senior Analyst on Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis team in Mexico City. Inés provides political, operational, social and security risk analysis in Mexico. She produces regular updates for Control Risks’ online subscription services, as well as bespoke consultancy projects for clients in Mexico. 

Inés’ recent projects include:
  • Detailed monitoring of political and regulatory developments in Mexico’s strategic sectors for a leading international bank
  • Research and analysis of security developments across several Mexican states


Inés has deep knowledge and understanding of the security and political landscape in Latin America, with expertise in Mexico. During her professional career she has advised clients on business opportunities, key industry players and planning/strategy development, focusing particularly on government affairs and security threat assessments that support executive decision making. Her skill set includes the ability to perform security and geopolitical impact/threat assessments, in-depth open source research, reputation monitoring and client briefings. 

Before joining Control Risks, Inés worked at Illumina Consulting Group, a security consultancy firm based in Washington DC. She has an MA in security studies from the Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University and a BA in international relations from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). She is a native Spanish speaker.
