Adriana is an Associate Analyst in Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis team in Mexico City. Adriana provides political, operational, social and security risk analysis on Central America. She produces regular update for Control Risks’ online subscription services, as well as bespoke consultancy projects for clients in Central America.

Adriana is an Associate Analyst in Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis team in Mexico City. Adriana provides political, operational, social and security risk analysis on Central America. She produces regular update for Control Risks’ online subscription services, as well as bespoke consultancy projects for clients in Central America.


Adriana’s recent projects include:
  • Quarterly scenario-led updates on the security, political and economic situation in Nicaragua for a client in the mining sector. 
  • A political-risk report covering social, environmental and human rights issues for a client considering a finance arrangement with a local mining company in south-eastern Guatemala. 
  • A regulatory risk assessment of the financial services sector in El Salvador for a Canadian client, with a particular focus on money laundering and corruption issues. 

 

Before joining Control Risks, Adriana worked at Defensa Digital, a political consultancy firm, where she focused on research and analysis of political issues and social unrest for clients in various sectors. Prior to that, she also worked at the Guatemalan chapter of Transparency International. Adriana holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala City and a Master of Science in political communication from the University of Glasgow. In addition to her native Spanish, Adriana speaks fluent English.
