Aashish Agarwal is Executive Director of Control Risks’ Global Client Services division in South Asia. Based in Mumbai, Aashish is responsible for key client relationships and leveraging our business intelligence, forensics and security consulting capabilities in the subcontinent to help clients navigate the challenges of investing and operating in India and South Asia.

Aashish Agarwal is Executive Director of Control Risks’ Global Client Services division in South Asia. Based in Mumbai, Aashish is responsible for key client relationships and leveraging our business intelligence, forensics and security consulting capabilities in the subcontinent to help clients navigate the challenges of investing and operating in India and South Asia. 

Aashish has been a consultant to multinational corporations, global investors and government organizations for 13 years. He has extensive experience in financial services, infrastructure and real estate sectors, leading several business intelligence and strategy consulting assignments across the Asia Pacific region.


Aashish’s recent projects include:
  • Advising a global investor on the compliance, regulatory, corruption and operational risks in a transaction involving acquisition of controlling interest in a portfolio of infrastructure assets in India and Bangladesh.
  • Multi-jurisdiction investigative support for an oil and gas company on a commercial dispute. This included digital forensics, investigative enquiries, asset searches, forensic accounting and broader litigation strategy support.
  • Leading an internal investigation on behalf of a multinational pharmaceutical company involving employee misconduct.
  • Review of documents, policies and processes to identify fraud, use of analytics and visualisation tools to support decision making and recommendations to strengthen internal controls for a global manufacturer.
  • Restructuring support for a global automobile manufacturer in India.


Prior to joining Control Risks, Aashish led the Strategic Consulting division at Cushman & Wakefield. He is a law graduate from the University of Mumbai and also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specialising in finance, from Sikkim Manipal University.
