Africa Graduate Programme
Celebrating the first of our Africa Graduates
We are delighted to announce that our first round of graduates have just completed the Africa Graduate Programme. After 18 months that included an induction in London and six months with each service line, we are very pleased to offer our graduates positions with Control Risks. Our Africa Hub Partners have summed up each graduate’s achievements over the programme below.
Freyda started the graduate programme on completion of her law studies at Strathmore University, Nairobi. Her charisma, passion and zeal immediately put her in good stead with the company and the varied projects she would be involved in – which included hostile environment training for a number of international personnel deploying to higher risk African countries. Freyda quickly demonstrated the analytical and inquisitive mind needed to grow into a challenging role. With her educational background and qualifications, it became apparent that Freyda would be best suited to be part of the growing Business Intelligence team in Kenya. Under Clara Bonner’s expert tutelage Freyda is now a fully-fledged member of that team and delivering high quality, client facing work on a daily basis. Dan Heal - Senior Partner, Nairobi
Oladisun Vera Cruz
Disun has certainly evolved and progressed as we had hoped through what has been an interesting, evolutionary and insightful programme; we see tremendous opportunity for him in terms of his professional and energetic interaction with clients and prospects as well as his technical engagement with projects in equal force. Whether supporting on client scoping calls, applying his analytical horsepower to election predictions or actively supporting on the delivery of CSC tasks – Disun has been an exciting and energizing force to see in action. We keenly anticipate his next steps in Control Risks and the West Africa team. Tom Griffin - Senior Partner, Lagos
Zizi developed from being theoretical to a budding consultant who now analyses situations in a practical manner. She is now well grounded in the essentials of being involved in a commercial venture and has internalised the values of Control Risks, specifically integrity and team work. This has come through in her interaction with colleagues in the office who hold her in high regard. We have watched and witnessed Zizi grow into a fantastically capable colleague with an exceptional future ahead of her. Wayne Malgas - Partner, Johannesburg
